When it comes to men’s jewelry there are usually two schools of thought. The first is that a man’s jewelry should never detract from the rest of his look; a simple wedding band, a discreet watch, and maybe a “peek-a-boo” bracelet that makes a brief appearance from underneath a shirt sleeve during a nice, firm “howdy partner” handshake. The second school of thought, which I more often subscribe to, is that if a man is to wear jewelry he shouldn’t be shy; instead, flaunt it, and appear slightly left of gaudy. We’re not talking early 1990s gangster-rap star, bejeweled necklaces with diamond encrusted peace signs meant to blind old ladies, but instead statement pieces that will make any casual acquaintance stop to ask a question or two. Now, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for a day at the office if, for instance, you work in the homogenous, drone-like confines of a major investment bank or consulting firm. Far from it, but I would recommend a nice office jewelry box, so that when your work day ends you can “accessorize” (why do so many men fear this concept) and prepare for a nice leisurely evening on the town. It’s quite simply the easiest way to transform yourself, at least in appearance, from a boring conservative schmuck, into a hip, non-conforming, unforgettable schmuck (okay, so if you are a schmuck jewelry probably won’t change that).

So while diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, below are a few pieces that you may want to become better acquainted with if you have a hankering for a little “bling”:
